San Juan Island Museum of Art Exhibits

The San Juan Island Museum of Art is currently featuring two exhibitions. From

September 23 – December 5, 2022, Kevin Christison’s The New Forbidden will be

featured in the Nichols Gallery. Antidote by M.J. Anderson’s will be featured in the

North Gallery. Art for Fun will be held on Saturdays from 4:30 – 6:30 PM. This is a

fun and relaxing templated painting class.

Turkey Cards and Friday Harbor Food Bank

The Holiday Season is the perfect time to give back to your island community.

King’s Market has started passing out Turkey Cards when you shop locally. At

checkout, ask your cashier to add your total or receipt to the Friday Harbor Food

Bank Turkey Card. The Food Bank will be open on on Tuesday, November 22nd for

online order make up day. They will be closed on Thanksgiving, November 24th.

HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS COMING UP…

Winter sports at Friday Harbor High School are fast approaching! The upcoming game schedule starts off with Varsity Boys Basketball and Cheerleading on November 29th, Girls Varsity Basketball and Cheerleading on December 3rd, Boys Varsity Wrestling on December 8th, and Girls Varsity Wrestling to be determined.

Chardonnay Shopping

Chardonnay Shopping is an annual event where we shop on a specific day to

support our local businesses and restaurants. On the morning of Chardonnay Shopping, December 8, 2022, Vinny’s will be opening at 10:00 AM for brunch to help get all the shoppers to local stores as soon as possible. Please make your reservations now!

Island Lights Festival

The Island Lights Festival in Friday Harbor will take place at 6:30 pm Friday, December 2. The tree lighting will be a touch different this year due to the sad demise of the big tree in Memorial Park. It will be a fun-filled evening when all start gathering at 6:30 pm on Spring Street between 1st and Front Street. There will be caroling, hot coffee and hot chocolate for sipping while waiting for Santa to arrive to light the tree.

Island Artisans Holiday Market

The 45th annual Island Artisans Holiday Market fundraiser will be held at the SJC Fairgrounds Fri Nov 25th & Sat Nov 26th, 2022.

This is a juried show & sale of local San Juan County artists. 10% of what you spend is donated by the artists to Island Artisans a 501 3(c) nonprofit group which awards art scholarships to graduating Seniors in San Juan County from any accredited school program.
