I have come to realize during my relatively brief time living on San Juan Island that, if you spend a little time outside, you will likely be rewarded by the local wildlife. Eagles, otters, foxes, owls, and even whales have caught me by surprise on more than one occasion. I have lived in some fairly amazing places during the past 60 or so years, but none that compare to the San Juan archipelago when it comes to truly feeling that you’re part of a natural world.
I wanted to share another unexpected encounter that I recently had while flying my drone over Blazing Tree Valley (San Juan Island). Actually, the word encounter might be little strong in this case, because it nearly went unnoticed (at least from my side). It simply presented as a mid-flight *FLASH* in my drone camera, which was in the process of acquiring real estate footage for My San Juan Islands, a local real estate team. It was wasn’t until I went back and actively combed through the footage that I realized what had transpired… that I was actually being hunted.
