Examining the final statistics for sold dollar volume and total real estate transactions in San Juan County, it is clear that our market was in a corrective state in the latter half of 2022. The report highlights 2020 & 2021 as very anomalous years in real estate. Final numbers in 2022 are more consistent with the well-balanced, pre-pandemic market we experienced in 2019. In comparison with 2021, the 2022 total dollar volume of sold properties on San Juan Island and San Juan County decreased by 28% and 33% respectively.
This end-of-year result was not surprising to most industry professionals, as we knew the record-breaking sales numbers of ‘20/’21 were not likely sustainable. To read the entire report, click below.
